I used to exercise every day and I was in very good health although still overweight. Having surgery where I was not allowed to exercise for 4 month's left me feeling lethargic about it. I have not been able to start back up in over a year although I have tried several times. The thought of exercising while I am doing it is depressing and I get very bored. I want to move on to other things that are more mentally satisfying before I even start let alone while I am doing it. Joining a Health Club or Gym is not an option.

I take a deep breath, close my eyes, and tell myself in a soothing voice
"GET THE FUCK OFF THE COUCH AND DO SOMETHING YOU FAT ASS!!"
Due to spinal injuries, I can't do a lot of normal excersizes. I use this and it works quite well.
Well, considering my work is a 20 minute walk away, getting fired if I don't turn up is a pretty good motivator
I always find that if I have a fun piece of Gym equipment Benji , that I just can't wait to get on it
like my Gazelle Trainer , that motivates me
I have worked it into my daily routine. It's a compulsion, almost.
I can't stop. I need at least an hour every day.
You're so Lucky :)
I know, and I never go tired of it :-)
But we have a lot of rain and bad weather so I do my share of pilates at home!
Actually a lot of Men do Pilates and that maybe just the kind of exercise Benji could get into :)
A friend refers to it as "Brazilian ass lift". Haha
I think you're right , most Guys see Lifting Weights or Bench pushing
250 1bs as their exercise but you definitely feel the burn with Pilates :)
Swimming is a fantastic way to stay supple and lose weight , if it's required because the water holds the Body and it's not being subjected to jerking movements , that Stress the muscles.
My gym teacher at school used to say it was the best way to exercise, and he was probably right.
I don't do enough of it anymore, only in summer when we can swim in the lakes or the ocean.
No weightlifting either :-)
I will be able to do more things and feel less stressed. And that I know I always will feel better afterwards.
Always climb the stairs, never take the elevator.
I have to not exercise so much as it affects my disability. Swimming is a good form of it.
