Do you know Greenland is smaller than India?

Question

I thought Greenland is a big country but it is smaller than India.

Canada is also not so big as it looks. Canada is just slightly larger than US and the northern part of the Canada is frozen. I just learned it :o.

You're very right ! Having used all kinds of maps over the years, I've seen the land mass distortions. Good thing for GPS and Keyhole satellites. They give the true dimensions. Also that's a great link.

Yes, it is amazing indeed, but Greenland is an island, and India a subcontinent.

The land masses are distorted on the maps ...

Yes, that's what happens when you try making a round-shaped Earth into a flat map. Some parts are stretched, others are shrunk.

It is a good thing that India is larger, since there are a few more people living there
