A recent scientific study showed that out of 2,293,618,367 people, 94% are too lazy to actually read that number.

@Virginia : I hope so or I need my glasses! :D

Lol, Virginia, that works fine with T(h)ink - :angel::D:D.

Well, usually I scan a big number like that and take note of its order of magnitude (2 billion in this case), and go back to other decimal places only if needed.

It's sort of like when I go shopping. I keep the approximate running total (to the nearest dollar, say) in my head as I put items in the cart, to make sure the cashier does not made a large error at check-out.

O'Tink, prolly I typically do something similar...perhaps rendering a number like this into 2 1/4 billion, or maybe 2 1/3 billion...just for purposes of usability...

Wow, must I write it out?

Two billion two hundred ninety three million six hundred eighteen thousand three hundred sixty seven, actually, in a rounder figure, approx. 2 billion 294 million people (actually, I would rather say nearly 2,3 billion). Or I'd also or rather think of the majority of about 94 % - lol.

Virginia Marianne

Well you wrote it and it's very impressive too, Marianne!...the study says most folks don't even read it out!

Marianne Marianne

Lol, if I am in a hurry, I am trying to bring round figures.

Anyway, when I see figures or numbers, I have to look twice or to note and check them.
