A Gift for the Boss

Some employees bought their boss a gift for his birthday.

Before opening the gift, the boss shook it slightly, and noticed that it was wet in the corner.

Touching his finger to the wet spot and tasting it, he asked, "A bottle of wine?"
His employees replied, "No."

Again, he touched his finger to the box and tasted the liquid. "A bottle of scotch?"

His employees replied again, "No."

Finally the boss asked, "I give up. What is it?"

His workers responded, "A puppy."

Lol, indeed, they are cute, but babies are babies, and that involves a lot of love, patience and quite a few nursing, cleaning and educational responsibilities.

Errrm... the boss must be accustomed to consuming quite inferior wines and spirits.  :O :ermm: :) :D

Lol, T(h)ink, it might be even worse, perhaps a case of ageusia (and eventually of anosmia too):

See details in German:

:O:angel::D:D:D

Lol, Marianne, in that case, at least the boss can save himself some money.  :) :D

Lol, Virginia, good morning to you with some more smiles!

And we got some more chuckles and two additional themes, inspired by T(h)ink:

Marianne, I knew the word 'anosmia' (and its relative cacosmia), but had never heard of umami nor of ageusia!

(And I did not know there was ever any antagonism between French culture and USA culture in the Seventies...?) Interesting links, still more smiles too!

Yes, Virginia, there were quite a few "antagonisms", also with many other, somehow old-fashioned European countries and mentalities:

I suppose that you are referring especially to Servan-Schreiber's bestseller "Le défi américain":

besides the invasion of modern technologies, arts, like movies, music, etc., consumerism, "overcommercialisation" and cultural, behavioural, linguistic or fashion "trends", for instance
