I never do that if it isn´t a person I will meet personally for instance. But I never greet strangers I just see on the streets.

it really depends who they are.. some people just don't want to swap a couple of nice words. (its not hard to tell who will smile and say hi back to you)

I like to smile at strangers in order to create a scene of friendliness.

Gee......Sweden looks like a friendly place huh?

Anyway.....yes, sometimes during the school months.  During the Summer, I meet them everyday working at my Summer job at the beach.
