Depends on what the calliope is attached to. My dad and I used to go to Upstate New York and we used to hear (and see) a steamboat playing songs on the calliope.
Here's a small sample of this steamboat playing a song on the calliope. This makes me both happy and sad. Happy because it's such a nice piece of music. Sad because we don't go there anymore, hence I said we "used to go" there.
