We haven't had a fire in our home but our home has certainly been in a fire.
We live in a bushfire-prone area and from time to time the countryside around us burns. In 1968 the fire swept through our street. This photograph, of the vacant land immediately opposite our house, was taken by our next door neighbour just before the blaze hit. Things got a bit too busy to take photographs after that.
Not in my own home but my Dad played electrician at my parents house many years ago and there was a pretty good fire! Burnt up all of the old photo albums which really bummed me out. Only fire I've ever had here was in the BBQ ! LOL
I lit my candles in my flat and fell asleep , it caught light to my Black velvet hat ,gloves and scarf and when I woke up my flat was filled with thick , dense Black smoke.
I couldn't even see my Hand and was totally disorientated , it really is the smoke that will Kill us in a Fire
No, but I live in a wild-fire prone area and that's kind of alarming sometimes. Also, a neighbor's house was on fire once. It was wiring problem in the attic that caused it.
I gotta confess that I've never seen anybody looking bored during a bushfire. Frightened, busy, excited, determined, occasionally even panicking, but never bored. :)
