If a leftie male were to wear the panties as you suggest, Bernie's nose would indeed become extremely prominent. If a female, he might develop a runny nose.
So by liberal logic, if he kisses her butt enough, then his face will look like her butt and he will finally have a face that is butt ugly which would be a move up for him.

Well, since I posted this question, Bernie has gotten a lot tougher, taking Hillary to task for her huge PACs and for accepting $600K from Goldman-Sachs for three speeches ("That's what they offered me," no doubt for her spellbinding speaking abilities.) He studiously avoided making observations like that during the first three debates, choosing instead to have love fests with Hillary about how awful the Republicans are; not debates at all, composed or otherwise.
Bernie is acting like a gentleman as opposed to many of Hillary's Republican rivals.
