I do own one and I love it. I like how tall it is and how stately it looks. There is something about that ticking that relaxes me and brings back a time of yesteryear. I like the gong sounds announcing each hour as well as each quarter hour. To me, a Grandfather Clock makes a house a home.
No, but we do own a smaller "grandmother clock" that sits on a shelf and strikes the time every 30 minutes. It belonged to my in-laws and is about 110 years old. It's magnificent but not nearly as accurate as a modern clock.
No I do not , I loved going to my grandmas house though when I was little and hearing hers chime.. Lol where I'm living only has one clock on the wall and the Baterries are dead on it. Smart phones are making clocks and watches obsolete. I think I'm gonna buy a watch , retro . I'm gonna bring watches back :p
