Because I think the show was more developed and deeper and with more interesting characters and plot where they also age. Pokemon is not my type of show either.
I agree, for the show purposes, Digimon was a lot deeper and more developed. Have you seen the newest series? Digimon Adventure tri? The first part came out recently.

Digimon is the better show; but Pokemon is all about the games, which are awesome.
I'm just not into both of those characters.
I'm afraid both are far behind my time.
