Yes, and it really sucks, but in a good way.  I just have the small hand held one for cleaning my car.

Yes, I bought my first about 10 years ago and it sucked just as good as it did when I first bought it. I just bought my second Dyson and highly recommend them. Almost all vacuums have great suction when new, most do not have it when they reach a year or two old.

I own one.  It is now 10 years old and still does an excellent job.
