Of course! Domestic accidents are still among the most frequent causes of injuries, and besides cutting one's finger in the kitchen, bruising one's finger with a hammer is "not unusual" - lol. I had often minor accidents with tools, including hammers, but usually, with a plaster or a bandage the job could be completed.

And that reminds me of an old joke:

Little Johnny comes downstairs crying. His mother asked, "What’s the matter now?" "Dad was hanging pictures, and just hit his thumb with hammer," said little Johnny through his tears.
