There is only one clear instance in which I probably could have filed a suit over malpractice, but I didn't even explore it, and I sometimes regret that fact. I could have possibly saved someone else the same suffering, and/or offset the deficit it caused in my life.
In a non-medical related incident, I did file a lawsuit against an individual. It was a huge pain in the ass that will never bring restitution, and I sometimes regret that fact. I could have saved my peace of mind, time and effort.
My general stance now: Avoid bringing a lawsuit, if at all possible. Life is too short.
