I would prefer home-made ice tea - unsweetened or with a some honey.
Too much sugar and similar substitutes on hot days is not a good idea; drink rather water, unsweetened herbal or green tea, eat a water melon or sip freshly pressed fruit juice without sugar or other additives.
And if you need to sweeten your tea or fruit juice, try honey (or maple sirup) instead of sugar.
I prefer soda over tea...but I don't drink soda very often.
I stick to my Diet Pepsi regardless of the Season.
