I'll start with the Abyssinian cat to give the example.
The next players goes on with B.

@ Marianne:
It is interesting that there was a similar breed called the Swiss Mountain cat in the 1890s.
(Did Alm Onkel breed them in his spare time?)
I am afraid that the so-called "Swiss mountain cat" (considered extinct) was not Swiss, but probably a crossbreed between Siamese (or other oriental cats) and European natural breeds, such as "alley cats" (a more recently recognised European standard, i.e. the European shorthair - distinct from the British and the American shorthair - is a mixture of the originally domesticated breeds beginning with Felis sylvestris lybica, the African wildcat, then F. s. ornata, i.e. Asiatic wildcat, and [eventually crossing later with] F. s. sylvestris, i.e. the European wildcat).
How about "J"?
By the way, the Alm-Uncle is called "Alpöhi" - lol.

and a reading exercise in German:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heidi_(Roman)
LOL, well I never read Heidi in German, so I just translated the English.
But... "Der Name Alpöhi bedeutet wörtlich Alm-Oheim, also Almonkel."
And who is "J"? Johanna Spyri???
Yes, that is correct.
Where did you see letter "J" alone? Oh - now I see; the J was for the following cat breed. As everybody seems to have lost interest (Italian Rex for "I" is still available for a later moment), I entered today a "J" cat breed and hope now that letter "K" (for a cat breed, of course) will be more inspiring.
Hello, The Other Tink - I am missing you!
How are you doing?
Fine, thank you!
I'm here! (see below)

Some "initial letters" might have to be used for wild cat species, extinct breeds or skipped.
Thank you, thank you!
