Fifteen Things You'll Never Hear a Teacher Say

1. “Our principal is soooooooooo smart. No wonder he’s in administration!”

2. “Thank goodness for these evaluations. They keep me focused.”

3. “I’d like to see Red Lobster offer a meal like this!”

4. “I can’t BELIEVE I get paid for this!!!!”

5. “Here class, just put all your gym shoes in this box next to my desk.”

6. “I bet all the people in our administration really miss teaching!!” 7. “Gosh, the bathroom smells so fresh and clean!”

8. “It must be true; the superintendent said so!”

9. “I think the discipline around here is just a LITTLE too strict!!”

10. “It’s Friday already???????”

11. I believe schools would run better if only a few more ex-coaches would go into administration.

12. This in-service training has just been fabulous.

13. I believe that athletics are not getting enough money.

14. We’d be able educate our children if they would let us teach through June, too.

15. Have you noticed that teachers drive better cars than the students?

I am still wondering how things will turn out.

@ Marianne:

Hard to say at this point, but I think he is a pragmatist and realist. (e.g.,, he just settled the Trump "University" lawsuit for $25 million.)  And he is thinking of making Romney Secy of State, and Romney understands the Russian threat (Obama affected not to think that in one of the 2012 debates).

Yes, I heard it in the news - and the media hype or bludgeoning seems to worsen.

And no system or improvement is perfect. Neither radical changes nor a continuation of outdated prejudices or structures will help. And "remedies" are not the same for all, as you have to look into the true roots of the diseases, not the symptoms.

I got a little story for you, in German, about medication:

The author: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_Aurbacher

It was in a "blog" about improving systems, and it might be of interest to read about how German experts think:

As to France, I think that you heard about the boiling ambiance:

And nobody (in the political and business circles) seems to care about natural disasters and environmental depletion:

On my side, I had some extensive research to do regarding scams and cybercrime - some may look hilarious - yes, I couldn't help laughing and then feeling rather embarrassed, as the abused users - namely celebrities and high ranking officials and services - might have lots of troubles or are being badly ridiculed. I remember especially the extra work and time loss we had when several of our internet contacts got hacked - lol.

There's still too little about it in the news:

Thank you, Hitman! :D:D

I found it on-line (see link) - and it is true, it takes time to search for the real jewels among the many entries; also the pictures are not so easy to find.

More suggestions:

16. Real-estate property taxes that fund schools are too high.

17. My classroom has too few pupils.

18. Full retirement benefits for teachers should start at age 65, not 55. (this will vary with location)

19. Two free class periods per day for "preparation" is too much. (may also vary with location)

20. Teachers' unions have too much political influence.
