I always look to see if it's something I can try to fix myself.

I always fix things myself. If I'm not quite sure how to do it, I just look for YouTube videos and follow the instructions.

Most things are easier than people realize.

It's a shame when you see something like a vaccum cleaner thrown out and you know it's probably just a clog, broken belt or something else that would be a cheap 5 minute fix.

I know, that really bugs me too. I have a customer that paid me $50 an hour (my usual hourly rate as a builder) to change every light bulb in her house, once a year. Even though I'm retired now, she still calls me to change them and I'm more than happy to do it.

If she changes to led's you're out of a job.   lol

I love them...60 watts of light for 10 watts power...lasts for years.

You're right Bruno, it's getting harder and harder to find incandescent bulbs too.
I love those LED's, I changed my whole house over to them last year. Saves me some money and I won't have to replace any for years.

I was able to get a whole bunch of 60W Equivalent for only $3 each.

That's pretty cheap. I bought a couple of cases at Costco, they had an instant government rebate at point of purchase.

They're $2.99 at the local Home Depot right now.

I still have enough to re-bulb my house again. I'll probably be dead before I use them all.

I Love fixing things or trying and People actually come to me to fix their things all the time

Shoes , Toys , Computers , Bikes , Ornaments and more

My Nan says I am the Living Spirit of my Grandad because he did the same when he was Alive , he Created my first Tool Box and taught me to fix a plug as a Little Girl and so many other things.

I blame it on my Granddad too.   ;*)

I usually try to fix things myself but as I've gotten older and have the money, I'll have someone else do it. I get a guarantee that way !

I fix what I can myself but I'm a klutz and it's often more practical to hire an expert.

Depends on the project. Simple carpentry, I can do. Electrical anything or major plumbing, I leave to the professionals.

I will pay a professional to have something fixed.

Do it myself.  Save money and learn something.

I almost always give it a shot myself.  If I do need a professional, I look hard for referrals.  Less than honest "pros" are a dime a dozen.

It depends on what it is and how much it will cost if someone else fix it. If it´s electronic I pay for it for the most of the time.
