I worked in a lumber mill making wood house mouldings when I was 17 after school. Hated it!

Yeah....can't see you taking much joy in that! I was a grocery store cashier lol! Hated that too! I didn't and don't have the demeanor for that...dealing with snooty people! Don't put that can in this bag, put it in that one....grrrrr!

@Angela: No I sure didn't like it. Especially coming home and picking out all the splinters in my hands.

Owie! Splinters hurt! Kinda like paper cuts...doesn't seem like much but hurt pretty bad!

Angela, it was babysitting...from there, I went directly into the health care field as a cytotechnologist...going to save humankind. I thought it was a field dedicated to compassion and helping each other, (sigh) oh what a life disillusionment that was!

Angela_Anthony Virginia

Yes, healthcare in general is a disillusionment.....

Aside from babysitting, my first job for which I collected a regular paycheck was selling digital cameras in an electronics store during the summer when I was off from school.

If referring to the first job with a pay as a 17 year old teen; it was an administrative office job during summer holidays.
