Betio Island! In the Tarawa atoll now called Kiribati. Such a small island for so many to have died on. Red Beach One where the Marines initially landed looks like a garbage dump but they are working hard to make the little island as pristine as some of the others in the atoll.
Was really disappointed in the trash where so many good Marines died.

It was. We really loved Guam. Hot and humid but beautiful!
