The climax of the campaign occurred on Nov 13-15, 1942, when the Japanese tried to land reinforcements and supplies. There were two fierce naval engagements, with approximately equal losses on both sides, except for the 11 Japanese troop carriers, which were all sunk or beached, with maybe half the 7000 troops on board drowning. After that, the Japanese could no longer adequately supply their forces on the island and withdrew what was left by Feb, 1943.
Reckon I might play that campaign today if I have time.

You asked this four years ago. I remembered this year.
The beginning of the long way back in the Pacific.
What I know about Guadalcanal, and the South Pacific as well, I mostly learned from your father, Hitman! ...and the reminder is much appreciated.
