Tink, are you interested in more politics? My interesting Quora friend Lawrence Bloom, he is saying the election was very good news for the Republicans...here is one of his posts...and I think he himself was raised in a family of "yellow-dog democrats," a term I learned from him!

But he deleted his answer.

Maybe he thinks the Republicans have self-destructed in Georgia?

Actually I am concerned that we are veering toward one-party rule. The press, the educational system, the judiciary (except the Supreme Court at the moment) and the civil service all tend left.

In Germany, in the 20s, these same institutions all tended right.

Deleted his answer, I am surprised, wondering why...I think he was observing that Republicans had gains in the House, even though not a majority. And holding their own in the Senate, actually we will find out more about that soon...plus SCOTUS positioned now for decades. He posted another such answer, I may see if I can find it and if it is still up.

Your one-party concern is noted. Some economists I follow are quite concerned that the US has only two parties, representation not diverse enough.

Amen to Tink's observational hope for the double-faced cotton flannel, SFA! ...and tears for the destiny of the laborers who sewed it all together...
