I never used the internet for dating.

A black girl requested money after a video call with me in 2018.

Money is probably what at least half the people on online dating sites are after.

I wonder what happens if one scammer encounters another scammer online? They probably recognize the scamming techniques quickly, and soon move on to more potentially profitable prospects. :D :D :D

Nope! Never bother with those sites. Like to meet people face to face rather than video calling. I'll pass.

No, Kninjanin I do not, but it does not matter anyway because I have developed a system where I do not even answer the phone unless the call is pre-arranged anyway!

...and I have no long distance, just local calls...you can get by with all this if you are old and retired, and build your life around other centers of interest than digital...and as another layer of insulation, my caller ID lets me know if something has snuck in past all the other layers...

I end up with an unusual life, definitely out-of-the-loop of the rest of the world, but my life is my own!

We never answer the phone unless it is a number we recognize.   In cases where it is doubt, we may look up the number on the internet, where it is usually identified as a robocaller.
