Are you safe in the snow today? Northeaster hits Long Island epicenter

I thought of Other Tink, because weather reports say the whiteout snowstorm is heaviest on Long Island, and will continue until 6 PM today, Saturday January 29, 2022.

Do you have power and heat okay Tink, safe and warm, leisure to come onto SOLVED today?

Hi Virginia,

Thank you for for your concern. We got about a foot of snow and it got quite cold overnight, to a low of about 12 F (-11 C), but fortunately we did not lose electrical service, so everything was ok. There was some wind too, they said 30 mph, but it didn't feel anything like that.

Lots of digging to do now.

Yes, the weather reports always make it sound worse than it is, usually with some guy reporting from outside somewhere with snow being blown on him (probably by a big fan from off camera).
