No....my surname is not Welsh.

It’s Irish Gaelic......my great grandad was from Cork.

There once was a lad from old Cork,

Who said, with a smile, "I'm no dork.

I've heard that in Wales,

The sheep tell no tales." —

He sailed off for Wales 'board the "York."

Question, Sir Furry...do you think, or is there any research, does Wales have an outsize impact on the world in various ways, or is it more that I am just reading so many of your interesting posts?

Even this one...one of my childhood close friends was named Toni Rice. So, first name certainly Antoinette -- but Rice? Seems that might indicate Welsh ancestry, as both Reese and Rice can derive from surname Rhys!

...and I noticed this commentator did pronounce Llewellyn beginning with the kitty-hiss!

We are entering the space race ....really!

Well,as I’ve posted on occasion Welsh people have contributed in many ways to various developments around the world and Wales has featured in moments of history....just thought of something.I feel a post coming on.But there seems to be a problem with the World Wide Web this morning..so later.

Welsh names have developed and been anglicised ..a bit like my Irish Gaelic one which has dozens of variations from it’s original, totally unpronounceable root!

But as we are not an independent nation many things we have contributed to get lost as British!

Yes, Virginia, I think Wales does have an outsize impact for its size.

Tink, your answers are typically quite well-advised, so ima continue on with this hypothesis, then!

Wait a minute!

What about daughters?!

Those sexist Irish and Scots should do what they do in Scandinavia; Kristin Lavransdatter, for example.
