Italians who use English and other foreign words in official communications could face fines of up to €100,000 ($108,705) under new legislation introduced by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy party. When I was at school, they had punishment and fine for talking in Tamil (other than English) to improve the student's spoken English skills.

I hope the fine for students speaking in Tamil rather than in English was less than €100,000! :O
