We need an easier NOTIFICATIONS feature Guys and Gals

Question

Dan has asked for me to make this thread , so he can request a change with the Developer

Now this is my BASIC idea but if you have ideas of your own , then please tell us  

 

{{THIS POST IS ABOUT THE NOTIFICATION FEATURE ONLY MY FRIENDS , I WILL MAKE A POST TO DISCUSS OTHER QUALMS VERY SOON}}

 

 IF A MEMBER HAS 50 NOTIFICATIONS 

1) MEMBER CLICKS ON THE SYMBOL OF THOSE NOTIFICATIONS , I THINK THIS SHOULD BE SOMETHING LIKE A BALL WITH A NUMBER ON.

2) NOTIFICATIONS UNREAD SHOULD BE HI LIGHTED WITH  CHOSEN COLOUR *WARNING PEOPLE HATE YELLOW* GOING BY FEEDBACK.  

3) MEMBER CLICKS ON ONE NOTIFICATION AND EITHER THAT NOTIFICATION HI LIGHT DISAPPEARS OR THE NOTIFICATION DISAPPEARS ALL TOGETHER

*it's less confusing when they disappear for members* as they do on AM and did on SH .

4) THEN MEMBER CLICKS ON NOTIFICATIONS AND SHOULD STILL HAVE 49 VISIBLY UNREAD NOTIFICATIONS TO GO THRU ONE AT A TIME.

I ALSO THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE PM'S AS A SEPARATE FEATURE  
A LITTLE ENVELOPE SYMBOL WITH A NUMBER COULD ALERT THE MEMBER THAT THEY HAVE PRIVATE MESSAGES  *some members hearts skip a beat when they see they have a PM from a Special someone*

I am having problems with entering a post.

The limit is 8000 letters or signs and my text had less than 3000. (I sent a question.)

So, I could only enter the imported picture found on-line. I am not an expert, so, every suggestion will be welcome! Thank you!

Yeah, there is a limit of 8000 characters which is actually the source code of the text which you enter. You can view your source code by clicking the last icon on the answer box. The 8000 char limit will only exceed if there are so many 'styles' used in the text.

Actually, I copied and pasted my text from one of my word documents (letter type font "Arial" or "Times New Roman", size 10, letters/signs with spaces, etc. 2036).

I am somehow confused about the last icon in the answer box. I suppose that I'll have to open a new answer box first to check the bar at the top of the box.

O.K., I found "view source".


Note about the comment box:
There is no bar with options on top - after all, it is a comment, not an answer. There are the symbols for "comment", "new question", "hide", "edit" under the comment box.

For your Idea Development I agree and nice, but the logo of the site less attractive, Also the walls of this site should be varied so interesting to see it. And may be a comfort for owners. Thanks

i think we should have a more of a streamline notifications centre instead of a little tab in the corner. but keep the notification warning at the top to let us know when we get them)

In the notifications I would like to see whom it was that upvoted or commented. As it is all I can see is that someone upvoted (or presumably downvoted too). I remember on Sodahead if you clicked on the thumbs up or thumbs down you could see who voted you up. It was a nice community building feature.
