Very similar to the question: "Out of these, which one is your favorite bird?" But, this time, there's no poll and you can pick any birds you want. And, since I said "birds" in plural form, you can pick more than one bird as your favorite.
I'm taking a break from the "nudity" questions with this one about birds. Birds are so pretty, so it can be difficult to choose just one favorite bird, hence why I asked this question using the plural form. They can be almost any color. There are red birds, black birds, brown birds, white birds, yellow birds, orange birds, grey birds, and birds with a combination of colors.
I've been seeing a lot more Blue Jays and Cardinals in my back yard lately.
I have many favourite birds - lol!
So, I picked some random pictures:
Taiwan blue magpie
Hoopoe
Toucan
Little egret
Quetzal
Cardinals
Canaries
Hummingbirds
We didn't have a didgeridoo, though. :-(
The song was written by a schoolteacher during the 1930s as her entry to a song-writing contest. She received about $70 prize money (well, half that in pounds since we didn't yet have decimal currency). She had to give up the copyright and the contest owners, and those they sold it to, made a fortune. It's almost an Australian classic.
That's standard operating procedure for contests of this sort, and it stinks. If the sponsors had an ounce of decency, they would cut the composer in for a share of the royalties.
I have seen a few Wood peckers lately.
I like cardinals, finches, mockingbirds, roadrunners, woodpeckers, quail, pheasant, doves, owls, falcons, hawks, and eagles.
