I prefer names, as the streets have numbers to allow to locate the different buildings and sites.
Take, for instance, that you are a tourist trying to find a less known site, a museum, hotel or restaurant in Paris. You are walking and looking, for instance for the Café Lenôtre (and this one is known), which is located 10, avenue des Champs-Elysées).
Doesn't really matter to me. I don't do well with addresses anyway. I prefer, "Go past the McDonald's, turn right at the green house, and I'm three houses up on the right. The one with a silver truck parked outside."
