Yeah. I'm not into the whole catch-em-in-a-mason-jar thing. I just don't see the point in it. What's really fun is seeing a non-lit one in the daylight. Why is it fun? Don't know, just seeing something in a state it's not known for.
Each year, their numbers get fewer and fewer. Growing up, there used to be so many fireflies that the grass would light up at night when they were about. Now, there's barely a few that show up. And, people don't even care. That's what ticks me off about this.
I have never seen any where I currently live, however, there were plenty of fireflies when I was growing up in Maryland.

I use to see 1 or 2 per year and I have seen fireworm too.
