Didn't think of that kind of crown. When I was a little kid I was always puzzled by "Jack fell down and broke his crown..." but nobody ever explained it. I don't think they knew either.

Here's an Australian Crown. We don't use them any more -- we went decimal in 1966 --  but, coincidentally, this one was minted the year I was born.

And also in Australia, when you use the facilities you're said to be sitting on the throne, as this young lady is doing. It's different when you live in the US, of course, where the bathroom is known as a John. Richard Ianelli (The Devil's New Dictionary) wondered if half a bathroom might be called a demijohn?
