I think I remember doing some as a kid, my mum used to knit and she showed me how to do it ...but I never took it up.

Yes, ive been knitting for years, also crochet .

Tried but never got the hang of it.

But I can cross stitch and sew up a storm on the machine.  Does that count?

Yep.  I do better with crocheting, never got the hang of knitting.

My grandma did it, until health problems forced her to stop.

But she'd let us grand kids "help" from time to time, though in reality, I think we'd mess it up at times and she'd have to undo it and fix it later.
