Following Iowa, Rubio has established himself as a major contender in the presidential race. The link points to his post-Des Moines speech. It needs to be assessed with scepticism because, after all, it is a self-promotional, political speech, but he comes across as somewhere between the buffoonery of Trump and the misogynistic self-righteousness of Cruz.
From the GOP's point of view, he may well be the most acceptable contender.
What's your opinion?

I will not vote for Marco Rubio because he is a bigoted man toward the Gay Community and he wants to turn America backwards to 1958.

Thanks, Cowboy. I don't know a lot about him but, compared to Trump and Cruz he looks possible.

I made some inaccurate statements in this comment which Tink was thoughtful enough to point out. For that reason I've removed them and apologise to anybody they may have misled or offended.

Didge, your statement is incorrect in several major respects.  Wendy Davis's filibuster was during deliberations of Texas Senate Bill 5 in 2013, when Cruz was  already in the US Senate; he had nothing to do with it.

You must thinking of Texas Gov. Rick Perry. It was he who reconvened the Texas state legislature to reconsider the bill Wendy was filibustering, which then passed easily, with over 60% majorities in both houses.  No one, least of all Cruz, "overruled" the vote.  There WAS no valid vote during the first session, the filibuster PREVENTED the vote, which of course is the purpose of any filibuster.  (Wendy filibustered beyond the midnight deadline for the first session, so the first-session vote which passed the bill after that deadline was invalid.)

Furthermore, no one "closed the women's clinics," and again certainly not Cruz.  The main purpose of Texas Senate Bill 5 was to outlaw abortions beyond 20 weeks.  You can read the facts of the bill here:

I'm surprised at you, Didge; I would have expected better research from you.

You're right. It was Rick Perry. Sorry for the error. I didn't research it, I was relying on my memory which, in this case, let me down badly.
Thanks for the correction.

Didge, thank you for your forthrightness.  You are honest and a gentleman.

(and thanks for not exercising your 'licence to tell lies')     ;-)

I hope he has no chance.  He is a flip flopper and only says what he thinks you want to hear.  He is way too rehearsed and just really seems like another puppet for the establishment to control.

You've probably just described most politicians. :)

you are right :)
