Yes, and when the police arrived, I emptied my pockets (revealing no stolen merchandise). I then asked them to charge the clerk with filing a false report.

Not exactly, but close.

One day, as I was leaving a food market, a clerk came chasing after me and asked me to return to the store to speak to a manager.  So I went back with him, and when we got to the store, the manager said, "No, not HER!"   The clerk had run after the wrong person, not the one the manager wanted.

They both apologized, and I went on my way.
