I'm not much of a talker and I don't need to have the 'latest greatest' stuff, so a pay as you go smartphone works for me...and I will use it until it no longer does what I need it to do.

I believe the majority of the population don't need to upgrade every chance they get.

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, but I don't upgrade my phone all the time.  I usually keep my phone for three or four years before I think about upgrading.

I’m not about bigger or better. There are to many issues with apple that they don’t bother to correct before they are on to bigger and better. I’ve had both types of phones and prefer androids.

I have an iPhone X, an upgrade from the 6plus, and that replaced a 4s.   I will probably wait for the XIs or XII (or whatever Apple will call them).

My phones sort of follow the same pattern as my other electronics.

My computer is about 8-9 years old, my iPad is 5 years old now and my iPod is at least 10 years old.  I do promptly install the latest OS and app upgrades where I can.

I also have a Power Mac G4 from 1998 (as I recall) that I can still use for some applications and to store backups of my photos.

So, my answer would be no!
