What is soft wifi in huawei data card?

There are two different types of huawei data cards are available, one with the wifi hotspot and the other with the soft wifi. I like to know what are the difference between the soft wifi and the wifi hotspot. Which one should I have to buy for connecting the internet on the laptop.
