Well.........in the Marines, a Chief Gunnery Sergeant has to be tyrannical but fair and communicate with your people. Now in my present job, there usually isn't any Boss. We're given assignments and report to no one. Two completely different lives.
I would have to be an aloof boss because I would make it a point not to show favoritism to any employee. I would be nice, however, I would not tolerate tardiness or absenteeism when both traits get out of hand.
