I am not surprised that these touching sounds mixing longing, dancing, cheerful and mystic music had (and have) a significant impact on Australian and North American country music, for instance:
Oops - I should stop - I am flowing over (I have been looking into some known music, but discovered lots of interesting names and titles (vaguely remembered, forgotten or new), and I went on and on - lol. I hope that I am not boring you.
We saw a revival of Riverdance in Connecticut (Hartford) some months ago. I am always amazed by the precision of the lines of dancers. If a solo dancer gets the order of steps wrong, the audience would probably never notice, but if one dancer in a line of thirty made a wrong step, it would be obvious.
Very deep and spiritual: words and music are harmony!
I have great fondness for hymns based on ancient Irish tunes. Must be my Celtic blood.
I can understand you.
Some Irish songs found on-line:
Celtic woman
Luke Kelly - Dubliners
I also love sentimental Scottish songs.
Bonniey Charlie's noo awa
Safely oer the friendly main;
Mony a heart will break in twa,
Should he no come back again.
Will ye no come back again?
Will ye no come back again?
Better loed ye canna be;
Will ye no come back again?
Sweet's the laverock's note an lang,
Liltin wildly up the glen;
But aye to me he sings a sang,
"Will ye no come back again?"
Will ye no come back again?
Will ye no come back again?
Better loed ye canna be;
Will ye no come back again?
Sing ye o' the Cuillins o' Skye
Of Harris, or Eigg, or fair Iona
Joy of my heart, Eilean Muile
Whether I wander east or west
Waking or dreaming, thou art near me
Joy of my heart, Eilean Muile
Peat and heather, how ye call me
Little wee bothan by the hillside
Joy of my heart, Eilean Muile
Whether I wander east or west
waking or dreaming, thou art near me
Joy of my heart, Eilean Muile
Oops - I should stop - I am flowing over (I have been looking into some known music, but discovered lots of interesting names and titles (vaguely remembered, forgotten or new), and I went on and on - lol. I hope that I am not boring you.
No, you're not boring me — far from it.

Really outstanding! And thank you for your kindness.
A pleasure to the eyes ...
And I can't find the words - smiling.
YW!
