That would none for me. What's left of my family all live in different states and I use either the phone or Skype to talk with them and sometimes my oldest son comes on this site also. I don't see or hear from them every day.
Why communicate with family, friends and acquaintances over the "social media", if you can see them every day? They are, of course, useful in case of emergencies, accidents, etc., or if a message needs to be left, and for communicating over great distances.
On-line, too many private or sensible data, pictures and details are spread too easily, and indiscretions can cause much harm.
