I have not seen them for a long time...but in SW Washington, there is a kind of wild rose called sweetbriar; and the smell is especially lovely, very fragrant.

The smell of burning weed! My parents were always smoking that stuff. Always smelled it and remember it.

How easy for me....it was the scent of fresh cut hay making in the field.  You'd have no reference point obviously if you were a townie or city kid but, for those of us who grew up on farms, fresh cut hay was an intoxicant.
