Have you encountered the conspiracy theory that Germany's economy was purposely ruined, to pave the path to another war, because WWI was so profitable for the Western industrialists? Along with a dread of Russian communism...that doesn't quite make sense...truthfully, I don't really understand it...
Hmmm...I may try to look at that part of the video again...see if I can absorb more...something about USA industrialists who had profited very much from WWI, and wanted to do it again. So they were able to add their pressure to voices like Clemenceau to insist on punitive reparations. They were certain that would lead to a hyperinflation and collapse Germany's economy, hopefully leading to another big (profitable) war.
I remember the profiteers sold equipment to BOTH sides; the video showed a WWII German war engine (truck? tank? not sure) made by the Ford Company, for example.
But I am certain also, that FDR did something to prevent war profiteering...sounds like you have not heard much of all this, but I would always appreciate your comments/observations anyway.

No, I haven't heard that conspiracy theory. If so, it was horribly botched, with half of Europe ending up under the Soviet heel.
