And only 40 years later...
It's a museum piece. Note the modern German flag on the tail instead of a swastika.
My BF-109G had the swastika still on the "tail". LOL
Messerschmitt probably didn't want any legal or PR hassles with displaying a swastika in Germany.
On the vertical stabilizer.
That was interesting...at least some of them got in the air!
And now we have the F-35. Awesome aircraft.
Aviation has certainly made leaps and bounds but I still preferred my WW2 vintage planes. Probably would still be flying them if not for the Docs grounding me. Think I liked the P-38 the best for it's range and power.
