And if you were known as Taff on the other site, then is it quite common nickname for Welsh?
Plus, Wikipedia had the nursery rhyme wrong, at least according to my Tall Book of Nursery Rhymes from 1945 or so! I remember it very well, because I learned to read in 1949 (that was prolly before anyone else on here was even born yet), and this is how that nursery rhyme went!
Taffy was a Welshman, Taffy was a thief;
Taffy came to my house and stole a leg of beef.
I went to Taffy's house, Taffy wasn’t home;
Taffy came to my house and stole a marrow bone.
I went to Taffy’s house, Taffy was in bed;
So I picked up the marrow bone and hit him on the head!
