Does "lave" have another meaning locally?

Or does it just mean where the sea laves (i.e., washes) the shore?

I think you have it.

I can’t find anything that suggests otherwise.

I looked in several dictionaries, and found this in the Cambridge Dictionary:

lave (adjective)

large and droopy (in American usage, but said of ears in British usage}

Maybe applies to the nets of the Severn Estuary?

Could do.

Now I’m Tink!

Does "lave" have another meaning in this context, or does it just mean fishing that is done where the sea washes the shore?
