Gripping... especially when I put myself in the place of someone listening to this broadcast, with the horrors of WW1 only 20 years earlier still fixed in their memory.

I do wonder if WW2 would have happened if Germany had not been treated so badly after WW1.

But there was Japan and Stalin in the mix too.

Hitler lived in Liverpool before WW1 but that is another story.

If Germany had been treated better, Hitler almost certainly would never have become dictator; it was a most improbable twist of circumstances that this Austrian derelict achieved power as it was. 

No wonder he thought he bore a charmed life.

I think the story of his visit to his half-brother in Liverpool is doubtful.
