I've had the occasional warning about spamming, which surprised me at first.. Eventually I realised that if I post a link to a site which is actually selling something, they consider me to be promoting that site. They should make that crystal clear, so that we don't accidentally offend.
One area where I offended was writing about books. I would sometimes link to the book. That's OK on a site like FantasticFiction, but if I linked to the same book on, say, Amazon, where it was for sale, that is classed as spam. (It really depends on whether the bots pick it up)
Never thought much of that site. I joined once years ago but sure didn't enjoy it nor gibing out private info. You're probably better off in the long run.
