Found I was out of "pods", so squirted a teaspoon of Dawn in the compartment. Worked fine, no Brady Bunch type hilarity ensued.

No, that seems like a bad idea. One time my sister did that at her apartment and there was a huge puddle of water on the kitchen floor

No, but I've used Tide powder laundry soap in my dishwasher when I was out of dishwasher soap.

That would be a mistake. You will have an overflow of bubbles everywhere. I have used it though, when I have run out of shampoo. :)

And I apparently used too much.  I ended up with a sparkling clean kitchen floor once I'd mopped up all the suds.

Not on purpose anyways, I've seen when people have done it by mistake and soap starts coming out of the machine, looks funny, but with people freaking out, it's not funny... or should I say, it's not fun after they hear/see you laughing because they then freak the hell out on you :P:D It was funny! serious, but still funny :D
