It happened to me back in the 1980's while I was staying at the Universal Sheraton Hotel and Mark Hamill asked if he could sit at the table where my Mom and brother along with myself were sitting inside the lounge.  He had a nice conversation with us.  Luckily, I had my camera with me to prove Mark Hamill was with us.

I had several beers with Arlo Guthrie and the members of his band Shenandoah, many years ago after a show he did at a local club.

I've also met David Copperfield a couple of times.

Many , either officially when they were invited to some gig or other or just wandering into them 

Ran into this Guy with a Friend years ago , when I was a little sloshed *understatement* and was telling him

 "I Love you Martin , I think you're so funny , marry me"  hahaha 

He was only getting his Newspaper  XD 

Met many Pop Stars , used to be one of the regulars on one of our Chart Shows called Top of the Pops , that was Fun getting to meet all my fave Singers in my late Teens.

Meet? No... see? walk past? Yes.

Saw Justin Timberlake (there was a semi "secret" recording studio in my neighborhood), that was kind of out of the way, but as a teen you kind of go out of the way to get away from people too, and Timberlake was there (don't know why, don't know if he recorded anything or just visiting with someone or what).

Dave Chappelle, was in a fancy hotel for a close cousin wedding, when another cousin noticed him and went over and got an autograph. To be honest, I didn't think it was him (because you just don't randomly run into famous people (I thought) and why would Chappelle be there?) ... turned on the news later that night, only to hear, Chappelle was in the city for some event. So I now think it was him?

I've been to three Cons and I've met James Marsters, Colin Ferguson, Jewel Staite, and Eddie McClintock.

I've never met any, though I once gave Run DMC directions when they got lost on their way to perform, have pumped gas for Bob Segar and though I know one of Kid Rock's hangouts, I haven't been there in years.

No not really. I have only met the ones who were top 3 in idol one year to get their autographs.
