Seemingly, males of any age can be seen with their shirts off in G rated movies and any TV show that depicts this.  It's seen as socially acceptable since they can be shirtless in public, too, and few will raise their eyebrows of concern.

BUT...females of any age aren't seen with their shirts off unless movies are rated R or, with a few exceptions, a high-end PG-13 (Titanic, anyone?).  And, how often does one see females with their shirts off in public?  Probably very rare...and, when it does occur, what happens next?  Cue the police sirens.

Even in places where it's legal for females to be shirtless, few would actually take advantage of it.  Why?  Because our society has ingrained into us that female chests are s*xual while male chests are not.  I will never believe that, of course, since I refuse to play the s*xist game that society and most people do.

And, since we're conditioned to believe that only female chests are s*xual, it's likely a reason few females would try to be shirtless in public, since most guys will have s*xual reactions to seeing them.  As such, they don't want to feel uncomfortable for the opposite gender's reactions.

In the 1930s, this was probably going on when males tried to be shirtless in public.  Back then, it was as taboo as shirtless females are today.  So, what happened?  Males fought for their right...and WON!  Some females are trying to fight for the same rights today, but, as you may have noticed, most people have negative feelings about this.  It's been nearly 80 years since males have had this right.  It's been long overdue for females to have this same right.

So...my question is does anyone think this is s*xist that males can legally (or socially) be shirtless in public while females are still struggling to get to this point?

P.S., Once more, I've censored certain words to avoid the occasional offended party warning me not to say such words without censors.  I was warned already by a moderator not to spell out certain words a while back when I asked such questions without censoring "offensive" words.  So, as a precaution, I've put the asterisk (*) in place of a letter with certain words.

P.P.S., I know I've been told recently that this site no longer has this ban of certain words and that I don't need to censor them.  But, if someone complains, that ban could go back up and then, I'd be warned again...and possibly banned from this site.  Not wanting to take that chance, I must censor certain words to avoid that from happening.  That's why I keep censoring certain words.
