It's not just you, it happens quite a lot. Must be a glitch that sometimes repeats your user name, maybe every time you open a new window as you look through the site.
Well, it shows on the right: on top, right under your avatar and the "Question followers", there's a box for "Related Questions", then, there's some advertisement and a series of questions with a picture. Right underneath, another advertisement tops a box with the different categories of questions. Then comes the box with the members and guests present on-line.
I didn't notice this info at once - don't worry.
Lol - we'd rather take it easy; after all, it looks funny.
I just joined this site, and noticed the same thing. Hopefully the site owners will get it fixed. Does anyone know who they are, by the way? Do they participate here? I've noticed that the best online communities have owners/moderators who are also users who are accessible and part of those communities.

I think that you found the problem - lol.
There must be a misfunction or a programme failure - I just checked: I am "sevenfold", with 29 unnamed guests - lol.
T(h)ink might have found the problem.
There are 39 guests as I write this.
Ahoy, guests! Join up and say something!
Lol - that's the idea:
hello - ahoy - ho ho (for Santa) - welcome, friends! How about joining us?
Just a little "lol":
Today, I am "fourfold" with 26 "unknown" guests ...

They also serve who only lurk and watch.
@T(h)ink
Sadly enough, some might be too shy to log in or register - or some might be uninspired, etc. ...
But who could possibly be more inspiring than you and me?
Lol - thank you for cheering me up.

Thank you, T(h)ink - our shared "lol's" help a lot, and I am doing my best.
@T(h)ink
Look now -

Omg! I don't even know where it shows what members are online.

there is 23 guests and 1 member (me) on right now.. wouldn't it be great if some of these guests would create an account and give this site a try!!
I think at least some of the guests are members that logged off, but who didn't close the window to the site.

@ Starchild,
Dan is in charge, and he posts comments and questions.

Thank you Tink, good to know! That's a positive indicator for the site.
