Lol - in many cases, but not always.
Yes, it is not easy, as auto insurance, like driving, is a rather risky business, and there is a serious lack of transparence in too many cases. And if we take a look at all the car chases and stunts in detective, road and other action movies - well, there seem to be too many people who are trying to imitate their heroes - of the "fast and furious" kind. If I am a little bit too earnest, I just saw again, lately, the thriller "Duel". It makes you think (or there's food for thought).

Now to some funnier aspects, when there are merely some fender-benders without harm to anybody!

I remember a funny case: I had to stop to avoid an unruly cyclist, and the driver behind me bumped into my rear. When we filled the mutually agreed motor vehicle accident report, we stated that we were both at the same insurance company - imagine the laughs. The case was settled without problem and paid promptly to the repair shops. Here, insurance costs are rather high, but "good risks" are compensated with bonuses.
Actually, the less arranging insurers were/are more in the sickness and health sector, namely those covering collective contracts for employers.
